About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does my cruise ship group of 4 qualify for the 72 hour visa?

we are canadian planning cruise from singapore to Shanghai (shanghai fly to toronto same day after exit ship or next day if ok with 72 hour free transit)

1. 2 days cruise stop in Hong kong (7 hours & 8 hours)
2. 1 day cruise stop in Xiamen (8 hours)
3. Shanghai - cruise exit and travel to aiport to fly back to toronto, canada
DO WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING IN ADVANCE FROM CANADA?

Hi, iza, the 72-hour free transit is only applicable to those who transit at airports, so you cannot use the policy. However, according to what you said, you can use 24-hour direct transit service as long as your stay in PRC is within 24 hours. In this case, you don’t need to do anything in advance. But if you stay for more than 24 hours, you need to apply for an entry permit in advance.
