About:Xinjiang Maps

I will travel from Thailand to Xinjiang..how i can go there, by what mode of transportation?

Is it better to travel as a backpack or should I have a guide tour along with renting a car?

Taking planes is the best choice for you. Do you start from Bangkok? If yes, you can fly to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport first. Then transfer the plane to Urumqi (provincial capital of XJ Province).

As I know, the scenic areas are scattered in that area. And the penetration rate of English is low. So if you cannot speak Chinese at all, you are suggested to join in a tour group or hire a tour guide with renting a car by yourself. :-)
