About:Visa Policy of China

Traveling to Beijing for 48 hours

Hello, I am a US passport holder traveling with a friend back and forth to Beijing from the US. I will be in Beijing for one day and one night before returning to the US. Is it required that I purchase a visa for this short of a stay?

Thank you, ---Al

Yes, you need to purchase one for your short stay because your route is not eligible for the 72 hour free transit policy.

Cissy, Thank you so much for your prompt reply. To clarify, the necessary entry permit I would need to apply for as a US citizen staying in Beijing for a 24 hour period is the $140 USD fee. Is this correct?
