Authenticity of a painting bought at the Imperial Palace in 2002

I bought a painting reportedly by Ma Jin. I sent a picture of the painting with the authenticity document given to me by the Imperial Palace to three large auction houses. All of them reported they couldn't verify the painting was by Ma Jin due to technical problems seen in the painting. How do I determine if I was deceived and what recourse do I have?

I suggest you send the original panting, not pictures of it, to some professional accreditation agencies in China. It is hard to distinguish it is a counterfeit or an authentic one.
