About:Chinese Consulate in New York

Can a UK citizen apply for a Chinese tourist visa whilst visiting NY?

My boss needs a PRC entry permit and will be in NY on business next week, as time is tight, is she able to apply for an L type at the consulate whilst she is in NY?

If so, what additional documents will she need to provide please?

Kate, all I can say is that she can make a try. To my understanding, she has a chance to apply successfully. To apply for a tourist type, she should submit her passport, filled application form, a recent six months passport photo, return air ticket, hotel reservation and her valid entry permit to USA.
