About:Shanghai Transportation

My wife and I have a 12 hour layover in Shanghai.

to visit the city would my best option be the maglev train and then the subway 2 or a taxi to the city centre? Is 12 hours enough time to visit the city and get back to the airport?

Hi, Scott. You are right. You may take maglev train to Longyang Station. It takes only 8 minutes. Then, you may take subway line 2 or a taxi to the city proper. It takes about 20 minutes.

So, 12 hours is enough for you to visit the city and get back to catch your flight. But remember that you should come back at least two hours before departure. Have fun! :)
