Transiting at PEK/Shanghai

Hi,

I am a philippine passport holder, planning to fly air china/china eastern, can I transit shanghai or beijing without a transit visa? if yes, how much is the fee for stay permit, if I'd like to do sight seeing in PRC while waiting for my flight?

Thanks!

Pat, if the total layover time is not more than 24 hours, you don't need the entry permit. You just need to apply for a temporary stay permit to leave the airport. It's free of charge.
