About:Chinese Consulate in Chicago

Possible for a British citizen with UK passport to obtain a Chinese visa from consulate in Chicago?

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am a British Citizen, with a UK passport, living in Chicago. I am due to visit China for one week in November, in order to perform a financial audit at one of my company’s subsidiaries located in Suzhou. However, I was wondering, is it still possible for me to obtain an entry permit from the PRC Consulate in Chicago, with a UK Passport?

Also, if I can obtain it, is it possible to obtain a 10-year one? Or is the maximum a 2-year type with multiple entries?

Many Thanks indeed for your help with this.

Best Regards,
Scott

Hi Scott, as you live in Chicago, you can apply from the consulate there. In addition to the regular application documents, you need to present the original and photocopy of your US residence permit.

You cannot apply for the 10-year multiple-entry permit. It's only available to US and Canadian citiens at present. I'm afraid the office does not issue 2-year type either. You can consult this with the officer. If they do not issue it, you can apply for a 1-year multiple entry type.
