Hi I am a Sri Lankan passport holder and transitting via Shanghai from Canada to Sri Lanka.

Do I need a visa? I am transitting Shanghai from Canada to Sri Lanka. I hold a Sri Lankan passport and am a Permanent resident of Canada. Please let me know urgently. If you know, what is the transit G type fee from Vancouver or Canada

Hi Umaya, if you stop in China for less than 24 hours, you do not need the entry permit. Otherwise, you should apply for a G type in advance from the CVASC office in Vancouver. The fee is 92 Canadian dollars in total, tax included.

Hi,
In this circumstance, can you go out of the airport or do you need to stay inside of the airport?
Thanks.

Waj, if you plan to exit the airport during your 24 hours free transit, then you should apply for the stay permit. If you hold G type, then you can exit directly.
