stay in china during connecting flight in case of kid with disease

I will be visiting US for the medical checkup of my daughter (9 years old heart patient) and planning my visit through Air China, from Islamabad to Karachi then it will be a connecting flight from Beijing. as this is a long journey especially for kid having heart disease. I want to know can we get a visa(Transit) for one day, so that she can a little rest then resume flight for US.? if yes, kindly let me know the requirements and how many days it will take to get it.

Hi Khalil, as you only stop in Beijing for one day, you can possibly make use of the 24-hour direct transit, so you don't need to apply for a transit permit in advance. In case that you need to leave the airport during the layover, you can apply for a temporary stay permit upon arrival at the airport.

Thanks for the reply Russel. may i know is there any requirement for temporary stay permit? Is it possible to take this permit from chinese embassy here at Islamabad to be on safer side? me and my daughter holds Pakistani passports.

To apply for the stay permit, you need to hold your passport, an onward ticket and the entry permit for the US. This permit cannot be obtained from the consular office.
