Can Filipino tourist in Thailand apply for a Chinese Visa for a job interview by Maldivian company?

I am a Filipino and worked in Thailand for many years and held a work permit which is now expired due to company closure last year.I am now on a visitor's status,holding a tourist visa that was granted upon arrival.

A company in Maldives is inviting me for a job assessment in Shanghai (1 day).
Can I get a Chinese tourist type here in Thailand? Will my valid airline crew type for China on my passport help in my case?
