Banned food to take to China

Can I take a whole piece fo Parmisan Cheese (vacuum package)? Parma Ham? spaghetti sauce in a glass jar?
What the penalties are for not declared food?

francesca, spaghetti sauce is ok. However, Parmisan cheese and ham are not allowed. If you don't declare them, then your food will confiscated if the customs officers find them out. Usually, you won't be fined.
