Do i need an entry permit?? If so, what type do I need

Hi i wish to travel from krabi thailand to shanghai then take a bullet train to Beijing then inward flight to hongkong. Staying a little time in each. I am a british citizen. What visa do i need to get? Or which do i qualify for? Thank you
