About:China Visa Application Requirements

Can he enter China if he has temporary resident visa but his passport has less than six months left

My husband who is an American was working in PRC and has temporary resident permit that will expire on December,and now he is on his vacation here in the Philippines. We are wondering if he can still go back to PRC this November 10th when his passport has less than six months before it expires. Please answer my question. Thank you.
