About:China Visa

Is a Chinese visa required for a 9-hour layover in Beijing for US citizen

We have 9 hours in Beijing and would like to leave the airport for Bangkok, Thailand. Will I be allowed to leave the airport and be allowed back in for my flight?

Yes, you can leave the airport and then back to catch the connecting flight. The transit permit is not required.
