About:Hong Kong Visa Application

Is visa required if i am transitting on the air side

HI,

I am planning to take cathay pacific flight from Saudi Arabia to Australia. On this route cathay flights have transit at hong kong airport. I am a Pakistani national and have Australian Permanent Residence permit (Electronic visa not stamped on passport). I have found different information on websites and from the ailines offices locally. Some sources say that i need to have a transit permit of HK even if i stay on the airside for the next flight. Some sources say i do not need due to the reason that i hold australian PR and have onward flight. Another source says that even of you hold australian PR permit, if its not stamped on your passport, you need to get HK entry permit for transit. I am very confused now and would appreciate of you can guide me on this. Thank you very much.
Regards,
Raja

Hi Raja, you need the transit permit for HK, even if you don't enter the city area.
