The 72-hour free stay duration can't be extended. If you need to stay for more than 72 hours, you should go to the local exit and entry administration office to apply for a normal visa with 0 entry on it.

As I know, it cannot be done on entry at the airport. It can only be done in local entry administration, which is usually located in downtown.
