About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Help! Travelling from philppines to winnipeg via shanghai pudong airport

From Philppnes, i will arrive at terminal 1 of PVG. Then after 7hrs or layover, will be transferring to air canada at terminal 2.

*How can i get to terminal 2? Is there a free bus?
*How is the procedure for connecting flights

Between these terminals, there are free shuttle buses. You can also reach T2 by walking. There are corridors linking them, and the walking duration is about 10 mins.

If your flights are operated by China Eastern Airlines, the transfer procedures are like this: Arrival, confirm the onwards boarding pass, check-in, quarantine, immigration, security check, waiting and boarding.

If it is other airlines, you need to take procedures like this: arrival, international arrival access, boarding pass, quarantine, immigration, luggage claim, security check, waiting and boarding.

Thank you!! If i would like to have some time to roam, or meet a friend during waiting time (i have 7hr 40mins layover).
Is it possible?

Of course it is ok to meet your friend at the airport. After landing, you need to go through the immigration and security check and enter the public areas of T1. You can meet him/her at a landmark like a resto or cafe. After that, take free shuttle bus to T2 to wait for your onward flight.

If wanting to get out, you need to apply for a stay permit (the so-called temporary pass) at the airport, which is easy to obtain. For details of the permit, do consult your airlines.
