Temporary residence permit transfer

Hi

My husband have recently moved from Baoding, Hebei to Shanghai as he has a new job. We have all the relevant paperwork but are hitting a brick wall when trying to apply for the changes to our temporary residence permit. Originally in 2013 we had our marriage certificate notorised by the British FCO and then legalised by the Chinese Emabssy in London. Back then this was acceptable in Shanghai. On presenting this to the bureau this is now not sufficient! They want proof of our relationship - can anyone tell me what is required? Also what documents/process should be needed to complete the transfer of the residence permit?

Thanks for your help.

Pam, I personally think your marriage certificate is enough to prove your relationship. I haven't heard other documents that are used to show relationship between husband and wife. As you want to trasfer your work permit and residence permit from Baoding to Shanghai, your husband should get a new work permit from the new company. Then the listed documents are required for renewing the residence permit: 1. Residence Permit Application Form (obtainable at the Exit-Entry Bureau itself), with passport photo; 2. Original Registration Form of Temporary Residence from your district’s police station; 3. Copies of your current employer’s valid Business License, Organization Code Certificate, and Certificate of Approval for foreign-invested enterprises; 4. Application letter from current company with company stamp; 5. Your newly collected Alien Employment Permit; 6. Your passport
