About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

UK - Japan - Beijing - UK; Do I need to buy the onward ticket from Beijing - UK when leaving Japan?

or I can buy the onward ticket at Beijing airport after arrival but before applying for the 72-hours stay.

Simon, I advise you to buy the onward ticket from Beijing to UK before leaving Japan, otherwise there is possibility that the airline will refuse you to board onto the plane.
