About:China Transit Visa

Am I eligible for the 24 hour layover?

What if the connecting flight to United States gets delayed in Guangzhou due to weather reasons or technical problems?

I'm an INDIAN passport-holder want to fly to Los Angeles from Guangzhou on China Southern Airlines.

Ideally, I would have liked to layover for at least 2 weeks before flying to the USA. China is one of the richest cultures and has an amazing history and has contributed to so much to human civilization including gunpowder, paper, tea, silk and so much more. I want to see cities like Dalian and Harbin.

Unfortunately, Sino-Indian political relations between are not that great. As a result, I can't visit unless I book a package tour or find a third party sponsor.

Hello Madarchod, if you want to be eligible for the 24-hour free transit policy, you have to book a flight ticket to LA in advance and the connecting flight should be leaving within 24 hours. Then if your flight is delayed, you can apply for a stay permit at the local exit and entry administration office. In this case, it will be easier to get the L type entry permit but your flight ticket to LA have to be changed, which may incur extra cost.
