About:Visa Policy of China

for connecting international flight, Chinese visa is mandatory or not?

I will be travelling to japan from kolkata via kunming airport and Shanghai pudong airport and I will have to spend almost 28 hrs of these two airports in china. I am an Indian citizen.

Yes, you need to apply for a transit type since you stop more than 24 hours. Please apply from the CVASC centers in India in advance before you go.
