About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I'd like to know is it for sure we can leave airport and come back without visa?

Going to Thailand from US. Coming back to U.S we have 19hrs stop over at Guangzhou International Airport. So we can eat or check in at hotel Nearby to rest. Any suggestions would be appreciated! :) Also how does it work for our luggages if we have connecting flight

Your route is ok for 72 hours free transit. So you can exit the airport and stay at a hotel to rest. If you take connecting flights, your luggage should be transferred to next leg automatically. If you are worried about your luggage, please make a call to your airline company to confirm this.
