About:China City Guide

wondering if you had any advice on the best route to travel china?

Hi, great site!

We are travelling from laos in a few days, and We are a young couple who are on a relatively tight budget. We will hopefully have a 30 day visa approved soon which we hope to extend perhaps in Beijing to another month.

Also wondering about any advice you might have for first time travellers? We have been travelling for 7 months so far but have been lucky in that most places seem to have some english, but have heard that in much of this country, english is not common.

Any advice, much appreciated!

Oh, it seems like that you will spend a long trip.
Well, Guangzhou, Guilin, Chengdu, Xian, Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai are the most popular ones among lots of Chinese cities. Each of them have many popular scenic spots.
1. Guangzhou: White Cloud Mountain, Chimelong Resort, The Pearl River.
2. Guilin: Li River, Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave
3. Chengdu: Panda Breeding and Research Center, Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, Dujiangyan Irrigation Project
4. Xian: Terra Cotta Army, City Wall, Bell Tower, Big Wild Goose Pagoda
5. Beijing: Forbidden City, Badaling Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven
6. Suzhou: Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden, Lion Grove Garden
7. Hangzhou: West Lake Scenic Area, Mt. Putuoshan
