About:Hong Kong Airport Express

we'll be staying in Hong Kong for 5 days 4 nights.

what octopus card should i take for ma and my wife and our 7 yrs old son? ...and using octopus card, how much will be charged for an adult and how much for a child 7 yrs old?

Standard Octopus Card is a good choice. It includes 50HKD refundable deposit. Besides, for you and your wife, the least initial value should be 50HKD, and for your baby, the least value is 20HKD. For your 5D4N stay, at least 150-200HKD is needed per adult and 100HKD for your kid.

can we use this Octopus card to pay for the bus fare throughout HK? is there any other places that or merchants that accepts octopus cards?

Yes, you can pay for the public transportation such as subway and bus by using the Octopus Card. In addition, as I know, only a few stores can accept Octopus Card. It's suggested to prepare enough cash for your convenience.
