Are there boat rides on the canal in Suzhou?

Or water taxis that we can use as a tourist ride? Where should be get on and off?

Yes, there are sightseeing boats available, and night cruise should be the best, which usually starts at 18:30. You should get on the boat at Xinshi Bridge (Xinshiqiao), and the ship will returns at Xinshiqiao finally.
