About:Chinese Embassy in New Zealand

Visa for New Zealand citizens

can we get visa for China from New Zealand, go to India, stay there and then travel to China buying tickets from India.

Yes, you can apply a L type in your country and then come to PRC from India. However, you should make sure that your L type is still valid before you entering from India.
