15 hours layover in shanghai

I going to fly from INDIA to AUSTRALIA via SH through Eastern China Airlines on 17 Dec with my family  which will give a halt of 15 hours at Shanghai, therefore I wish to know that whether I'll be allowed to visit the beautifull  city or not.Jaspal SinghIndia

Yes, you can tour around the downtown area with no visa. But if you wanna go out of the airport, you need to apply for the Stay Permit at the airport first. After that, you can take the Maglev Train to Longyang Road Station. Then transfer to subway line 2 to some popular scenic spots, such as People's Square, East Nanjing Road and the Bund. Have fun!
