should i go through the immigration check in shanghaiguangzhou?

Hi1. I will be flying from shanghai--GZ--vietnam. 2. I will be landing / coming from vietnam to CAN at 8PM and my next connecting plane to Shanghai is 8AM in the morning. Both the Tickets are from the same airlines (china southern) ..  i want to know can i exit the airport to take a rest in the airport hotel and check-in again? what is the process??
