STUDY TRIP - BEIJING OLYMPICS

Hello,

I am an architect from Barcelona currently teaching at the Architecture Faculty in Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. Because of a Design Studio focused in designing an Indoor Stadium for a future Olympic Games in the capital of Thailand, me and 8 more students will be visiting BJ from the 9th till the 14th of September.

I have already organized the itinerary and the sights through the days but I still don't know if it is possible to go inside the following buildings:

- Diamond Arena in Tennis Center
- Green Tennis Court in Tennis Center
- Ling Long Pagoda
- Laoshan Velodrome
- Workers' Gymnasium
- Mastercard Center
- Institute of Technology Gymnasium
- Capital Indoor Stadium
- Aeronautics Gymnasium

If not, I have already tried to call to the sites to ask permision to go in, but I haven't find anyone speaking English.

I also tried to call BODA (BJ Olympic City Development Association), where I believe I can have some meeting with experts and talk about the Olympic planning, but I have had the same luck regarding English speakers.

Apart, do you know of the existence of any guided tour through the Forbidden City especialized for architects? Any other tour around the city with the same characteristics?

Thanks in advance!

Pau

Well, the tour route is not a popular one, and I’m afraid you eight need a tailor made itinerary. AS I know this website provides customized route in Beijing, you can turn to them. Their contact info is tourstravelchinaguide.com. By the way, English speaking service is never a problem, all their guides can speak fluent English, which will smooth your communication.
