About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanhai to Zhangjiajie in 72 hours

Hi, I have a US passport. Does my 72-hour Visa-free Transit apply If I land Shanghai and immediately go to Zhangjiajie National Park and back in Shanghai within 72 hours?

It is not allowed to leave Shanghai. It is illegal to go to Zhangjiajie. Especially when you wanna have a hotel at Zhangjiajie, they will check your visa.
