About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Do i need a visa?

I have a US Student entry permit from India. I am travelling to India from US, but I have a stop in Beijing for 7-8 hours, and then a connecting flight from Beijing to India. Do I need a transit permit? i do not know if i would have to change the terminal or gate. Thanks.
