Holding Canadian passport, do i need Transit visa for China while travelling to Melbourne, AUS?

Where will you transit and how long will you stay during your transit? In some cities, you enjoy 72 hours free transit. In some other cities, you enjoy 24 hours free transit. If you transit long than 72 hour 24 hours, then you need to apply for a transit type in advance.
