About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Melbourne> Beijing (48hrs wait)> London

I understand the visa free transit waiver is for homecountry to Beijing to 3rd country, but can it be for the return journey?:
I have a UK passport: I will fly from Melbourne> Beijing (48hrs)> London. Can I use the free transit? Thanks
