About:China Tourist Visa

I am a British citizen and I am applying for a Chinese visa whilst in Bangkok Thailand

therefore I have all correct info but no original bank statement, only photocopies emailed over from UK. Will this be acceptable?

Lucy, which type are you applying for? Generally speaking, the bank statement is not required. So you may not need to submit this. Even though you are asked to submit bank statement, I think you can submit the photocopies as well as your work certificate, salary slips and something that can prove you can afford to your China trip.

I am a Canadian citizen and the bank statements were not required when I applied. Legally speaking emailed documents are not valid. If the embassy will not accept them, and you are 'stuck' then I suggest applying in HK. It is much easier to get in HK. In HK you can go to the consulate or use an agent - I can recommend one. The consulate takes 2 days. An agent takes 1 day.
