About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Obtaining visa from thailand

My partner is a Filipino teacher with a work permit working in Bangkok, where we live. . she has been told by the Chinese Visa services in Bangkok that she needs an official invitation from the local government on a special form. We have Chinese friends in Beijing who are happy to vouch for us. Can you help, please. I am British and it seems more straightforward for me.

Hi, I personally think you should check with the embassy and see if this invitation letter is mandatory. If yes, you need to get it from a travel agency. I guess the letter should be the so-called "invitation letter from duly authorized unit" and "duly authorized unit" here refers to China Tourism Bureau.

Well, if you want to get this letter, you need to join a tour group organized by a travel agency. I think you can turn to TravelChinaGuide for help by booking a tour. They do it very well.

Dear Paul,
Thank you for your help. I have checked with the Chinese Embassy here in Bangkok and an invitation on a special invitation form is mandatory for as Filipino tourist. Is this something TravelChinaGuide could arrange for me. Originally we had hoped to go to China this month. However it is now too late and we should like to visit in December on a round the world trip having visited England and Costa Rica. I would be most grateful for your help and of course would use your services in our travel to China.. With best wishes, Shaun
