Well, according to Chinese law, if you take pets into China you are required to have the following documents:
1. Certificate of immunization from rabies issued by Canadian veterinarian office;
2. Quarantine certificate issued by the relevant Canadian authorities;
3. Pets will be quarantined for 30 days at the designated place upon arrival in China.

Upon landing, you need to report this to Entry and Exit Inspection Agency first and show your available documents.
Then they will do quarantine inspection at the scene. After getting qualified, your pet can be transferred to the pointed place to observe 30 days.
