Xiamen Transport from Cruise Ship

If you come to the city for the day on a cruise ship. Is it possible to get transport from the cruise port into town? How far is it? Is it easy to travel around? What are some suggested activities if you have 5 -6 hours?

Actually the port is very near to the downtown area. I'd suggest you take a taxi to tour around. You can go to XM University (around CNY20 by taxi), which is one of the most beautiful universities in China. Near the university, there is a South Putuo Temple, you can also drop by that spot.
