About:China Visa Exemption

Can we get temporary visa for sight seeing in China?

I am travelling from India to Los Angeles by China Eastern Airlines & have a stopover at Shanghai for about 11 hours & on return journey at Kunming.

Hey, if both transits do not exceed 24 hours, you can take advantage of the 24-hour free transit twice. When using the free transit service, you can apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport to go out and sight-see.
