About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

LA to Hong Kong than to Shanghai and then to Hong Kong again. Do we qualify for free transit Visa?

Hi there,
Me and my dad are taking a trip to Hong Kong from Los Angeles. We plan to make a 72 hour trip to Shanghai and then returning to Hong Kong for another night before coming back home to Los Angeles.
