About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

I'm an Indian on a work visa in HK with HKID. Do I apply for a seperate one to mainland China?

Yes, Ricky, you need the entry permit for mainland China. You can apply from the Office of the Commisioner of PRC Foreign Affairs Ministry in Hong Kong.
