About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hour VISA at PEK

My family is travelling thru PEK on our way to India. If our flight arrives at 16:25 on Dec. 10 / 15 and departs 19:40 on Dec. 13/15 do we qualify for the 72 hour free transit?

Jay, your layover is a bit longer than 72 hours, but you still have a chance to get the free transit because it's said that the 72-hour period in Beijing counts from the time you have gone through all formalities. However, if you want to play safe, you had better apply for an entry permit.
