Jess, Indians enjoy 24 hours free transit so that you needn't apply any entry permit in advance. If you plan to stay at a hotel outside the airport, then you just need to apply for the stay permit at the immigration. It's just a stamp on your passport. With that permit, you can exit and stay at a hotel without a problem.
