About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I qualify for the 72-hour permit?

Hello. I have a U.S. passport, will be arriving from San Francisco to Hong Kong (connecting in Beijing). I will be in Hong Kong for like 5 days, and I'd like to spend 2 days in Beijing before returning to San Francisco.

If you go from Hong Kong to Beijing and then to San Francisco all by air, then you qualify for the 72-hour permit.
