Airline employee flying standby

We are Americans and husband works for airline. We fly standby with only a standby voucher. Can we fly in and out of Shanghai within the 72-hour visa because we will not have a return ticket until seats open up. Thank You

I'm afraid you cannot enjoy the free transit policy. The tickets have to be with confirmed seats under the free transit rule.
