About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

USA->Singapore->Shanghai?

Hi, I am traveling from the USA to Singapore. My roundtrip ticket for that flight is already booked, but during that trip I would like to purchase a seperate round trip from Singapore to shanghai and be there less than 72 hours. Would I be allowed in with my USA passport?

Johnny, after you visit Shanghai, you will go back o Singapore, right? If so, you cann't use the 72-hour free transit policy. I advise you to go from Shanghai to Hong Kong and then to Singapore to avail yourself of this policy.
