About:China Visa on Arrival

Chinese visa needed after re-entering

Hi I am an australian citizen with a group type me and my partner allowing a single entry. We are leaving chonquing to go to Vietnam but need to come back to china to fly home to Australia. Once leaving china (as I understand), it will expire. Is it possible to allow multiple entry or change the conditions to allow us to re-enter china for our flight home? Thank you

Hi Jessica! Once you leave China, your current entry permit will expire. However, it's possible that you don't need the entry permit when you reenter China. You are flying from Vietnam to China and then to Australia, right? If so, you can make use of the 72-hour free transit policy as long as you only transit in one Chinese city.

We are stopping at two cities due to a connecting flight. Does this mean we will need a visa even if we don't leave the airport?

Nope, if the total layover time is not more than 24 hours, you don't need the transit permit.
