taxi to Buddha near Hong Kong airport?

Could you please tell me if the only way to reach the Buddha near Ngong Ping is via the cable car or if it is possible to take a taxi direct to the Buddha from the airport.
We only have 3 hours stopover so are worried about queues and missing the connecting flight if we use the cable car.
Thanks

Cable car is not the only way. Bus and taxis are also available to reach the Buddha. If taking a taxi, the fare is about HKD200. But three hours seem too short. It is suggested not to take the risk. HKIA is large. You can just roam around and buy some souvenirs.
