About:Embassy & Consulates of Canada in China

I want to get a 1-3 year family visit visa. It is expiring soon.

I currently have a Q2 for visiting my grandma in China. I'm a Canadian citizen. It is expiring soon and I need to leave the country. What is a convenient way to get a new one without flying back to Canada? Can I go to any country such as Australia where there is a Chinese office? What countries are able to provide this service?

What types are available for a long-term family reunion, with flexible entries? What documents do I need?

Lucy, you can try to apply from the nearby countries, such as Japan, Singapore, Thailand, etc. Australia is an option too.

I suggest you apply for a Q1 type, which allows you to stay for a long term and can enter and exit flexibly. You need to submit your passport, a passport copy, a filled-out application form, a recent personal photo, a kinship certificate as well as a photocopy of your grandma's ID card.
