Can a US citizen apply for a multiple entries valid for ten years from the date of issue?

For short-term visit to Chinese citizen and for tourism, can a US citizen apply for a multiple entries valid for ten years from the date of issue? Any requirement and restriction?

Yes, you can. Most of the requirements are the same as applying for a normal Chinese entry permit. The only difference is that the remaining validity of your passport should be more than one year. There is no explicit restrictions for applying the long-term multiple entries.
